Tomatoes, fennel and spinach soup

Ha...should take a better shots for this soup, sorry for the lousy pictures as my girl was screaming for food while that time.
This is the first time I use fennel in my cookings, I was so excited when I finally saw the bulbs of fennel selling in Aeon supermarket around my home town but at the mean while i was confused, what should I do with it?
After studied some recipes on YouTube and my cookbook, I'm going to try this soup for the first time, I guess tomatoes won't go wrong with any ingredients. And woalaa, it does very delicious and my girl loves it very much by never stop me from keep feeding her spoon by spoon.
Okay, quick definition here for fennel, strange vegetables but yet tasted so familiar. Yes, its closely related with carrots, celery, parsley, dill and coriander. For me, it's more like celery. Good to eat with cold salad or quick soup. Fennel is very match with tomatoes, lemon, oranges, potatoes and Parmesan cheese.

Onions, chopped
Garlic, chopped
